| Bio: | ![]() Full Name: Ginevra Molly Weasley Nicknames: Ginny, Gin, Shortcake (don't push it) Age/Birthday: 22 years old, born 11 August 1981 House and Years Attended: Gryffindor 1992-1997 Blood Status: Pureblood Occupation): Unemployed Alliance: Order of the Phoenix Status in Society: In Hiding Boggart: Tom Riddle's Diary Patronus: A Horse Personality: Ginny is - given the hair and the personality - best known as a spitfire, even if she has a love/hate relationship with the term. She's the kind of person that can run you over so thoroughly you've felt like you've been hit by a Muggle steamroller, but in the end you thank her for the experience (as long as she likes you, mind.) A genuinely bighearted person, even in the worst of time she strives to see the best in people. Popular by nature, she enjoys spending time with a variety of people, never judging anyone by their blood; personality is key to Ginny. A loyal Fred and George worshiper, she sees the twins' never-ending optimism as the right way to tackle life. Whip smart and a very talented young witch, Ginny thrives on challenges and lives to push herself; she's a right scary dueller, and has an uncanny knack for modifying charms to fit her particular needs. She excelled in school not because she holed herself up in the library with books, but because she tackled her classes head-on and applied what she learned to her daily life. Loyal to the core, Ginny would throw herself in front of a Killing Curse if it meant she'd protect someone she loved. Her friends and family mean everything to do, and god help the person that hurts them. With the Wizarding World in the state it's in, Ginny won't allow even so much as a joke about hurting someone she cares about. On the other hand, the term spitfire touches upon some of Ginny's less-than-pleasant attributes. While Ginny claims she's entirely open minded and would never sink to prejudiced thoughts and actions, she harbours a deep distrust of all Slytherins, simply because they ended up in the House. The current situation with the Death Eaters and the war has done nothing to quell her dislike and distrust of them, and she'll make it quite known just how much she despises the lot. Her temper is something terrible to behold, and Merlin forbid you end up the focus of it; she's got a set of lungs that would put Molly to shame, and a too-quick-to-draw wand hand that's gotten her in trouble on more than one occasion. She's also been known to do accidental magic when she's at her angriest, and there are many a shattered dish set to attest to that fact. Ginny tends to leap before she looks, usually so caught up in the moment that she doesn't think of the consequences of her actions. Add that to her wild streak and her natural love of pushing the limits, and there you have a sometime recipe for disaster. It was probably a good thing that she wasn't allowed in the Order when she was younger. Family and Friends: Molly Weasley - Mother: Ginny and her mother tend to butt heads, though Ginny knows Molly loves her endlessly. As the only girl (and the youngest of the bunch) her mother tends to baby her and stay ridiculously overprotective, growing moreso as each of her brothers officially became adults. Not one who enjoys being told what to do, Ginny often was at odds with her mother over what she was and wasn't allowed to do. Their personalities (particularly their tempers) are quite similar as well, and often times Ginny's frustrated at her mother for doing exactly the same thing Ginny herself is doing. Regardless, she adores her mother and is so proud of the way she's raised their family; she knows it hasn't been an easy road, but her mother's given everything to the family to keep them all safe and happy. Arthur Weasley - Father: Ginny absolutely adores her father, and thinks the world of him. While others may roll their eyes at his obsessions and multitude of quirks, Ginny finds them positively endearing. She loves her father for always being so open minded and adventurous, and for never letting what anyone else thinks of him get him down. She wants to be as happy and satisfied with her life as her father is with his. After his near-execution, Ginny's grown increasingly close to, and protective of, her father, and worries about him all the time. Bill Weasley - Brother: Ginny simply adores her oldest brother, and thinks he's just about the coolest person to ever walk the planet. She very much wants to be as adventurous and free as Bill is, and she wants to live her life in the same devil-may-care way. While there's quite a large age difference between them, the fact that he treats Ginny like an adult is a huge deal to her, and she's beyond grateful for it. Charlie Weasley - Brother: Ginny worships Charlie's flying skills, and while they're not as close as some of their other siblings, they can talk Quidditch strategies for hours. Like with Bill, she greatly admires Charlie's strength and freedom, and looks to him as an example for the way she wants her future to unfold. Percy Weasley - Brother: Ginny thinks Percy is a right bloody arse, and she's not overly keen on forgiving him for crushing her parents. He may have come round to his senses eventually, but given that he and Ginny never really got along to begin with, she's not going above and beyond to make amends. Fred and George Weasley - Brothers: Ginny was always the closest with the twins, finding them the most fun (and the easiest to get along with.) While they were always protective, they never treated her like a child, and that was right up Ginny's alley. It also helped that she found their pranks and inventions genius, and loved getting caught up in their madness. She was close with them both as a team and as her individual brothers. She finds them to be two of the smartest, funniest, most caring people she's ever met, and she's fiercely loyal to them. With Fred's capture, Ginny is determined to find a way to get him back safely. Ron Weasley - Brother: Ron and Ginny had a bit of a strange relationship because they're so damn close in age. Ginny loves Ron unconditionally, and they've been through so many close calls that their relationship is more than rock solid, but they do tend to fight and argue and drive each other mad. Ron likes to hold his age advantage over his head, and drive home the fact that Harry and Hermione are his friends, something that always sets her right off. Ginny enjoys Harry Potter - Husband: Harry is the love of Ginny's life, and she doesn't care how cliched it sounds. She'd do anything for him - would've done anything for him since the age of ten - and she makes sure he knows it every day. Ginny loves with everything inside her, and sometimes she's almost a little afraid of how much she cares for him. She's not afraid to stand up to him, and she knows he loves her more because of it. She'd die for him in a heartbeat (though very much hopes that doesn't happen, as she secretly wants a big family with him, something she won't yet admit to anyone.) Hermione Granger - Best Friend Luna Lovegood - Adored Friend Angelina Johnson-Weasley - Friend and Sister-in-Law Fluer (Delacour) Weasley - Now-Friend and Sister-in-Law Ginny considers everyone in the Order to be a friend, and given her social personality, she's quite close to most everyone in it. She's also related to most of the bloody Wizarding World, given her bloodline Appearance: What stands out immediately about Ginny is her long mane of flaming red hair, which is usually down and all over the place. She's rather short at 5'2" (which makes her hair look at the longer) and has a small but deceptively spry build, resembling the twins more than Ron and Bill. As the twins say, big things come in small packages. Ginny has bright brown eyes, pale skin and quite a few freckles, something she's very proud of (despite her hatred of them in her younger years) and never covers them up with makeup. In fact, it's rare for her to wear makeup to begin with; she usually just likes to be herself. Quite attractive, Ginny's learned to use her looks to her advantage, though her flirtations are generally for fun or for personal gain. Like most witches and wizards her age, she doesn't wear robes in her everyday life, preferring instead to wear denims and t-shirts (or jumpers, given the weather.) She'll dress up if she feels like it, but usually stays casual (which isn't to say she doesn't play to her strengths look-wise.) Sexuality: Heterosexual Achievements: A surprisingly good Quidditch player, Ginny was an exceptional Chaser (and not bad as Seeker, thankyou) and was made Captain of the Gryffindor House Team in her Seventh Year. She was a member of (and named) Dumbledore's Army, and was a bemused member of the Slug Club. A top student, Ginny secured several OWLS, though given the war, she never sat for her NEWTS. Hobbies: At Hogwarts: Quidditch, Care for Magical Creatures (Ginny's a big animal lover, and spent time helping Hagrid with his flavours of the week), Sneaking out of the castle, Pranking (though nothing on the level of the twins). After Hogwarts: Reading, Writing, Spending time with the people she cares about, Fighting in the war against Voldemort, Drinking tea with obscene amounts of sugar and honey Hows Does Your Character Feel About Their Alliance: Ginny is very proud of her alliance, and is a steadfast and loyal member of the resistance. She's never once doubted their cause, and has never considered conforming to Voldemort's twisted ideals. She'd rather die than give up or give in. Biography: Ginerva Molly Weasley was born to a very surprised and pleased Molly and Arthur on 11 August, 1981. The only girl in generations of Weasley's, Ginny was immediately both lavished upon (in love and attention, if not in gifts, given her family's financial situation) and overprotected from the beginning. Growing up at the Burrow with six older brothers meant every day was an adventure, and Ginny quickly learned to hold her own against the boys (both outright, as she was not averse to yelling to get her away, and in a more sneaky manner, as was the case when she began sneaking off with her brother's brooms to teach herself how to play Quidditch.) It was pretty much sink or swim for Ginny, and swim she did. Born at the very end of the First War, Ginny grew up during a relatively stable time of peace; her early childhood knew only love and affection, and she grew to be a confident and happy child. She also learned a mean right hook, but again, sink or swim. At ten years old, Ginny was the only child still at home, and she spent the year driving herself mad with anticipation for Hogwarts. She knew instinctively she'd be a Gryffindor, and couldn't wait to follow in her brothers' footsteps. She also began harbouring an impressive crush on one Harry James Potter, though in the early days she was constantly thwarted by nerves and elbows in butter dishes. At 11, as expected, Ginny received her Hogwarts letter and was promptly sorted into Gryffindor. Her first year, however, was marked by the memory of Tom Riddle, the handsome, charming, and dangerous entity that has forever left a deep mark on Ginny, though she would never admit it. The closest she's come to talking about it was to yell at Harry for his stupidity in forgetting that she'd been possessed, during their stay at 12 Grimmauld Place. Riddle was Ginny's deepest fear come to life; someone who could bend her will, while she was powerless to stop him; someone who could take all decisions out of her hands and force her to do his bidding. But Harry saved the day, as he was always to do, and things improved; over the years at Hogwarts Ginny thrived, becoming a popular and vivacious young woman. She excelled in her studies and on the Quidditch pitch, made friends with just about everyone (save the Slytherins), and lived life to the fullest. She never became boy crazy, per se, though she never wanted for male attention, and enjoyed dating as she grew older. In the end, though, it was always Harry; as loathe as she is to admit to being soppy and romantic, Harry was always her proverbial Prince Charming, and one of the happiest days of her life was the days of their first spontaneous kiss, in front of the entire common room to see. The summer before her sixth year at Hogwarts, her brother Bill's wedding to Fleur Delacour was interrupted by the arrival of Death Eaters, who captured several guests and Order Members, and forever changed the course of her life. As the Wizarding World fell to the overwhelming power of Voldemort and the Death Eaters, Ginny joined the Order of the Phoenix, and she and those she cared about went into hiding to fight in the resistance, rather than submitting to Voldemort's will (though, given the Weasley's 'blood traitor' status, it's not likely they could've.) Ginny hates being in hiding, feeling trapped and frustrated and constantly on edge, even though at times she hides it well. She tries her best to stay optimisitc, and at times it works. Knowing that she's fighting for the eventual freedom of those she loves keeps her going; she cannot accept that life won't get better. She can remember the good times, between the First and Second War, when the world was a happy place. Ginny married Harry in the fall of 2002, and even though they were unable to have an open, carefree wedding, it still remains one of her favourite memories. She loves Harry more than anything in the world, and just knowing he's always beside her gives her the strength to keep going, even when she feels overwhelmed, and even during those very rare moments when she wonders, secretly, if they will fail. Ginny is still currently in hiding, but she's far from holing herself up; she's active and busy, fighting for what she believes in. These days she takes more risks than perhaps she should, but nothing ever changed by simply wishing it to. | |||||||||
